*EDIT 15-3-2012: finally got around to rendeer the colours more similar to the real-life one! I can't believe how long it took me to learn how to use Photoshop's tools XD*
This is by far the dress I most loved to make <3 It comes from Takarazuka's musical "The Scarlet Pimpernel", 2010 tsukigumi production, and is Marguerite's ballgown for the end of the first act ("nazotoki no game"). It's a two-piece+cage+crinoline construction made with interior taffetà (cheap and beautiful xD) Original dress can be seen here www.theaterguide.co.jp/theater…
This work is not stock and is protected by creative commons - ask permission before using (chances are high that I'll say yes xD)!!
Waaaaaaaaaaai THANK YOU!!!!!!!! *(^O^)* I love Takarazuka since I was a child and I try hard to get people interested via my replicas If you use tumblr try to search the Takarazuka tag, there's a lot of users posting pictures they make the most amazing outfits I dream about working there XD
Wonderful gown--so much interest in the details. Very lovely. Also, the photo is nice. Love the pop of pink against the blue. And the white really stands out more. Also love the perspective. You got a lot out of a mannequin shot.
Thank you so much!!!! it took a life to make the sleeves so I'm really glad you like them
It's rather lightweight The fabric is interior design taffeta which is even too light, the only heavy part is the brooch on the stomacher xD I had to put a couple of bones into the bodice to keep it straight XD
Well, it costed more than the fabric I usually use, 17€/mt, but if you think that it's tall 3,4mt it doesn't really cost that much with a couple of meters or less you're done I really like the effect of taffetà, I'd love to use it more but I have to find a place where they have it cheaper XD
Thank you so much!!! To speak frankly, I was a bit surprised by the dd too xD
I was never a fan of pink (or any light colour by the way...) but I've found out that it works well with period clothes^^ At first I wanted to make this in red but I'm glad I went for the original pink in the end
