Description
I've been meaning to upload this dress for the past 3 months and for a reason and another I never had the time to work on the pictures...argh! I want more free time! (>_<)
Anyway XD I made this gown for this year's Unicorn Fair in Vinci, it's the loveliest fantasy event we have! Since it was forecasted to be EXTREMELY warm those days (and it was - 40°C every.single.day) I wanted something flowy and I came up with this design after spotting the lovely shimmery gray voile in Rome
I didn't know it was supposed to be a Unicorn until the morning I wore it, by the way.
The colour scheme behind this dress is a silvery moon on a black sky, and to give it a bit of extra flowy-ness I burned the hem to avoid weight on the bottom, and the burns also help to give a bit of moon-like texture
The top has a sewn-in balconette bra (I've come to love building bras directly into the dresses, so comfy xD) to which I attached a full-circle skirt made with the grey voile; the black embroidered tulle overlay is gathered at the back in 5 pleats I made the sleeves out of the same fabric, but I didn't like any of the alternatives for the edges so I left them raw XD
The gown closes at the side with a corset-like lacing to give it a bit more of a romantic feel
I was extremely lucky to find, in a lovely booth at the Fair, a wonderful brooch made with coated aluminium and genuine Moonlight Crystal Swarovski elements to complete the look, I'm really happy with the result
Dress design, pattern, making by me xD
Picture&very poor editing also by me xD
WIP and other pictures on Facebook and Instagram
