Snow and Ice - rococo/fantasy concept gown

Description

This is the gown I made for this year's Victorian and Romantic Remembrance Gala in Monza:heart: I've had this concept around my mind since...forever I think....and I finally had the right event for it :) this year's theme was "Masquerade", embracing many different eras, so I could pull off the fantasy rococo theme XD
I totally loved making this XD
I am a sucker for rococo gowns, but for this one I wanted to make something a bit different, so I added elfic-like sleeves that would look a little like wings once worn instead of period-based sleeves :)
I grew up in an area were snow and ice are a common event during winter, and I remember the ice posicles reflecting all the colours around and sunsets being incredibily deep...all very fond memories :) so I tried to recreate that sort of feeling with the decorations. I imagined a snow landscape with ice sprinkled on it, hence the white fabric with pale blue embroideries and iridescent/clear swarovsky crystals :star:
All the embroiders were made by me with my embroidery machine, we're best partners in crime XXXDD
The overskirt counts 96 snowflake embroiders (48 small, 48 medium) and 1248 crystals with sparkling silver trim on the borders; the skirt has 5 strings of snowflakes embroiders on the center (15 big, 10 medium, 10 small) and 245 crystals; the bodice sports three major ice embroiders (by www.urbanthreads.com ) and a border of small snowflakes and more or less 200 crystals :)
The sleeves are made of iridescent organza trimmed with clear crystals strings.
I also made the accessories matching this outfit, gloves (not in the photo, I will add them separately) and the choker :) all are made of lace, I embroidered them with the machine:heart: the decoration on the choker is made of two earrings glued together :)

The bodice is lightly bones with rigiband (the sew-on plastic bones, I hope they have the same name everywhere) and is supposed to be worn with fully-bones stays and pocket hoops underneath :)

Total expense under 80€. I love wholesale XXXXXXXDDDD

Take a look at the amazing photos that inspired the colour palette:heart:

I will wear this dress again at next year's Carnival with some friends, we're going to be the 4 seasons:heart::heart:

Dress design, pattern, construction and embroidery: me XD
Photo&very poor editing: me XD
