Description

Aaaaand it's HERE!!! I had this project planned since I first saw the original design by :iconblatterbury: so...1.5 yesrs? Something like that XD
I ADORED the design when I first saw it and it took a bit of time to gather all the material, but it was so worth it!! I've been practicing belly dance for around 5 years now and being able to mix my favourite character with my favourite sport was absolutely incredible:heart:
You should totally visit :iconblatterbury: 's gallery, she makes some AMAZING designs not only of princesses :heart:

The skirt is a four-tiers half circe, with all the flounces cut on the bias. there are around 46mt of fabric involved, in both crystal orange and light gold. The hem are all faced with horsehair braid for a total of 40mt of hems XD it was...quite a work XD and it's HEAVY! I'm glad my hips are large and sturdy so they can tolerate the weight and there's no risk of loosing it while walking XD
I bought the bra base because I'm lazy and then proceeded to cover the cups in matching crystal orange organza and add the shoulder veil before...DECORATING!!
This costume was a challange in decorations because the original is so detailed and I really wanted to get as close as possible to it. There is a mixture of spangles, crystals and synthetic beads, all glued on Eva foam bases. Eva foam and jewellery glue are a great combination, very sturdy :D
I craved all the shapes into the foam sheets, and then proceeded with the glueing. Let me tell you that cutting bias pieces on foam is not as funny as doing it with fabric, so even though the belt fits perfectly on my hips while standing it does some funny things when I'm sitting on a chair. Oh well, you never sit on chairs while dancing anyway XXXD
The trickiest part was the stomacher, as it couldn't be a single piece between bra and belt due to storage problems. I decided to go for two pieces, one attached to the bra and one to the belt, linked together with velcro, it works wonders :) :) it's also very comfortable, and even in extreme heath it was very comfy :)
There are two side scarves attached to the belt, they have two bracelets to be worn on the wrists :)
I also made an anklet with Eva foam, I couldn't take decent pictures of it but it'll show once I'll upload a picture of me wearing it xD

The chandelier you see is a shamadan, a traditional headpiece worn for bellydance, usually with candels and real flames. It's a very advanced type of accessory to use and I don't recomend trying it at home xD I did train for it but I never had the courage to use it with real flames...
For this case I bought some beautiful LED tea lights that I glued on the arms, topped with a little Funko Pop Lumiere  the result is REALLY cool, and I'm usually not happy with what I do XD unfortunately I was mostly out during the day, so I have only a few pictures with the lights showing, but they are a blast *-*
